Ohio University students need to know how to find a quality rental house before they start their search. The worst time to decide a rental property isn't for you is after you have already committed or after you have moved in. Realtor's always preach location, location, location. This is important when buying a house, but also important when choosing an Ohio University rental property. Figure out where you will be spending the majority of your time and try to find something close to that location. For instance; if you are in Athletics then you might want to find something close to your practice facility which is normally near West Green. Near East Green, near West Green and near Court Street are typical locations that students ask for. Other important search factors are the house condition and the landlord. Has the property been kept up? Are the windows, furnace and fixtures new or dated? If the house is in good shape then ask the current tenants what they think of their landlord. If a new tenant doesn't like their landlord then what will it be like at the end of the lease? Enjoy the process and pick well!!
